Entry Criteria
At Slated Row, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment tailored specifically for children with complex learning needs. Our school serves students who require personalised support and attention, allowing them to thrive in their educational journeys. We understand that each child is unique, which is why our Entry Criteria are designed to ensure that all students possess an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), affirming their specific requirements and aspirations.
Our students do not present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as we solely focus on those with a diverse range of learning challenges. We offer three distinct pathways of provision. Structured, Sensory and Scaffold. The pathways enable us to deliver bespoke educational strategies that cater to the environment and curriculum needs.
The provision of a sensory environment is a fundamental aspect of our school, designed explicitly to support students who will thrive in this setting. Our sensory facilities play a crucial role in their development, promoting engagement and learning effectively.
Whilst we do not offer GCSEs, we concentrate on providing the highest quality of support tailored to our students' individual needs and preparing them for life beyond school.
Please note, we do not accommodate children with extremely physical challenging behaviours, due to the complex vulnerability of some of our students and the school environment.
Informal visits
The Leadership Team are always delighted to show parents around for students who have a EHCP and live in Milton Keynes City. Any visits will take place after end of the school day and will be in a group situation and we ask you do not bring children around as it may give false expectations.
However, parents should note that an invitation to visit does not constitute an offer of a place, nor does it indicate that the final outcome of an assessment will be a recommendation that your child comes to a school like Slated Row School such decisions remain the responsibility of the Milton Keynes Council's Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team.
